Current Vacancies – Disability Support Worker and Dementia Club Facilitator

Tenterden Social Hub provides a broad range of services to older and disabled people in Tenterden and the surrounding areas. We now require the following:

Support Worker (Disabilities)

18 hours per week (Monday-Wednesday), £7.85-£8.20 per hour.

Are you an empathetic, professional and enthusiastic Support Worker? Would you like to be a part of our small team, providing assistance and support to disabled adults at our Disability Hub in the heart of Tenterden?

We pride ourselves on the family style environment that our clients attend. You will be someone who has experience of working with adults who have a range of disabilities.  A minimum qualification of NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care is desirable for this role, but we are willing to hear from someone with the right experience who would be happy to undertake the required training. A car driver is preferred.

The closing date for receipt of completed applications is 5pm on 4th May 2018.  Interviews will be held on 11th May 2018.

Dementia Club Facilitator

6 hours per week (Monday). £7.85-£8.20 per hour.

Our new Forget Me Not Club is opening soon. We already run a successful Cogs Club, which is designed for people with early to mid-stage dementia, and the Forget Me Not Club will complement this. The Club runs from 10:00am – 3:00pm, and will feature a range of activities such as quizzes and puzzles, current affairs, singing and light exercise.

We require a facilitator to work with around 8-10 clients, supported by volunteers. Experience of working with people living with dementia is essential for this role, in either a professional or voluntary capacity. Applicants must hold, or be prepared to study for, an NVQ minimum level 2 in Health and Social Care.

The successful applicants will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS check. For more information on both roles, and an application form, please call us on 01580 762882 or email
